Sand Key Park at Clearwater Beach is one of those perfect, low-key spots where you can really unwind. The beach is clean and spacious—great for families or just stretching out with a book. There are plenty of restrooms, showers, and even little trash baskets to help keep the place looking nice.
The sand has a bit more crushed shell than Clearwater Beach, so it’s not quite as soft, but the water is just as gorgeous. We showed up mid-morning on a weekend and had no trouble finding parking, though it did fill up later. The park itself has a little bit of everything—walking trails, a dog park, fishing spots, and even a playground (though it’s set back from the water).
The walk from the parking lot to the shore feels longer, especially when lugging chairs, coolers, and kids. But once you’re there, it’s totally worth it—calm, beautiful, and way less crowded than some of the more touristy beaches nearby. Definitely a great spot if you want a relaxed beach day without the hassle.
