I got a haircut yesterday in Argentina, and it was an amazing experience. The first barbershop I went to was very clean, but they were busy and only took appointments. I had to book, but I apologized and said I didn’t have time for an appointment.
Then, I walked to another barbershop, and luckily, I only had to wait for the barber to finish with one person. My experience there was great: the barber was very welcoming and greeted me with a smile. He was also very clean—I didn’t even have to ask him to sanitize his tools. I saw him ask his wife to wash a special brush, and he sanitized the blade he used to trim the edges of my hair. In Florida, some barbershops don’t trim the hair edges with a blade, but others do—it really depends on the shop. You have to find a barber, often younger ones, who pay attention to that detail, as it gives the haircut a clean, finished look.
The price was 12,000 pesos, and tipping isn’t part of their culture, but I still gave him a tip because he treated me so well. Prices are higher compared to Peru and Chile, but the experience is just as good.
